3. When will other versions of GA be released?
Versions for Android, Blackberry, Nokia and Windows are currently under development. We are only a two man team with limited resources. Please support GA by providing feedback, buying a T-Shirt or by making a donation as it helps us to purchase tools, resources and mobile devices so that we can develop for the promised platforms and more importantly maintain them with frequent updates.
4. There is no Tippi or Adhak on the Gurmukhi keyboard?
These were not initially added to the keyboards as the GA Gurbani Databases contained several different ways in which some one could type Tippi or Adhak. These characters will be soon added to all versions of GA in the coming months as our database is now streamlined and has major improvements.
5. Will GA Windows Mobile Edition work on Windows Mobile Standard Edition?
No, as Windows Mobile Standard Edition is a cut down version with limited system and hardware resources. Not to worry as we are planning to develop a version when time and resources permit.
6. How can i install GA on an older PDA, Windows Mobile device?
If you are using a Windows Mobile phone or PDA that is older than Windows Mobile 5 and cannot install the cab file as it always install to your device memory & not your storage card. There is a solution!
You can install an application called CABInst which can be used to install the GA cab file to your default memory or your storage card.
Note: This may/may not work for all older devices. Gurbani Anywhere officially only supports Windows Mobile 5 and above.
7. Will GA Windows Mobile Edition work on any Windows Mobile Professional Edition Device?
Yes, we has built and tested GA Windows Mobile Edition on Small, Standard and Large Screened WM Pro 5/6 devices.
8. How to fix Windows Mobile system font after installing Gurbani Anywhere?
We have had reports that the fonts used by Gurbani Anywhere can affect Windows Mobile devices and make them use the Gurmukhi font as its default system font. This is not the case for all Windows Mobile devices but if you are experiencing this problem you can follow the below to fix it.
Try removing the font GURAKHAR from /Windows/Fonts. This should resolve any problems but if not also try the below.
Download a registry editor called Best Regedit. Unzip the download file and transfer the .cab file to your Windows Mobile device. Navigate to the .cab file from your mobile device and click to install. This will allow you to navigate to and edit registry keys. (Best Regedit can be used for free as a 15 day trial, so you may uninstall it after use)
Once installed start Best Regedit and navigate to each key and change the values as stated below.

9. Will GA iPhone Edition work on Apple iTouch & Apple iPhone?
Yes, we have built this version to work on the iPhone & iTouch devices. We have made this version compatible with most versions of the iPhone OS so that you don't have to keep spending money on upgrading the device operating system.
10. Do I have to jailbreak my iPhone device?
No
11. To get GA iPhone Editon installed on your iPhone/iTouch, you need to follow these instructions:
- Open App Store
- Search for "Gurbani" or "Gurbani Anywhere"
- Install App
- Start App - but please wait for it to start and then shutdown automatically. This step is performed by the software to prep your device so it can support the application
- Now just start the app and enjoy
Please follow the below if your iPhone/iTouch device is jailbroken. (GA does not endorse the jailbreaking of iPhone/iTouch devices)
- Uninstall Gurbani Anywhere if it is already installed
- Reboot your iPhone by shutting if off and then start it back up
- Install GA, after installation DO NOT RUN IT, reboot your iPhone
- Start GA and it will prep your iPhone environment ready to run GA, it will automatically close the application once it does this
- Now start GA again and use as normal
12. Why does GA iPhone Edition shutdown the first time you start the application after installation?
The first time you run the GA iPhone edition, it will start and stop at the splash screen, and then it will automatically shutdown. This is perfectly normal as this step is required to pre-setup your apple device to support the GA platform. This only happens once. After this when you click on the icon, the application will start as normal
