Gurfateh Ji,

First of all I would like to express my gratitude to the sevadaars for creating an excellent Gurbani search program.  Thank you!

I have a slight prob since I flashed a new rom.  Everything was working fine when I was running GurbaniAnywhere v2.0 with this rom >>.  But then I upgraded to another rom >> and installed GurbaniAnywhere v2.02 and I have two problems:

  1. The view does not resize the text according to screen size (i think this is a PIE 6 problem because the same problem is present in PIE browsing normal pages AND I have tried the suggestions in this post >> and this other post >> but it has not worked). See this image >> which shows this error.
  2. The "Previous" and "Next" ang hyperlinks do not work at all.

I cannot try version 2.0 of GA as I deleted it so I'm not sure if its a GA problem or PIE6.  I hope someone can find a solution to these problems, because its a great program and the ang-hyperlink actually made me want to read more and more Gurbani.

Gurfateh Ji

Thank you for your kind words of support. To help find a resolution to your problem please provide the following information:

1. Make & Model of Mobile device:

2. Version of Windows Mobile:

3. Version of GA:

Note: We know that IE6 does render pages differentley to previous versions and because the shabad display size has been reduced we suspect this could affect the "previous" and "next" buttons.

Try to increase the font sizes using Tools>options>viewer settings to maximum and see if it improves things.

Gurfateh GA-Team,

I have tried increasing the font sizes using Tools>options>viewer settings to maximum and nothing changes (apart from the text slightly larger).

1. HTC Touch HD (aka Blackstone)

2. Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional CE OS 5.2.21042 (Build 21042.1.6.1)

3. GA v2.0.2

Would it be possible to obtain a copy of GA v2.0.0 to see if this changes anything?

Could you please try the below.

Question: Is the ROM you have upgraded to a custom built one?

1. Hard reset your device -

How to?

(this will wipe your device back to factory settings. You can backup your contacts using active sync)

2. Download latest version of GA

3. Unzip the file on your computer and copy the .cab file across to your device

4. Try installing

(please refrain from installing other applications until you have done the above)

If the above does not fix the issue, please provide some screenshots of your version of Internet Explorer, so that it can help us resolve your issue.

Not to worry, if this issue is caused by IE6 we will bring out a fix very soon.

Regards

GA Team

Yes, the ROM is a custom built one, but so was the one on which GA was working in the first place.  I'm waiting on another ROM to be released, so I will try your above suggestions when that comes out (it's real pain to customise your settings everytime).  I'll let the GA Team know how I get on as soon as I have tried this (prob by end of next week).

Thanks GA Team.

 *****NEW DISPLAY PROBLEM*****

Gurfateh Admin Ji,

I've upgraded to another custom ROM, and although the application loads, the preview is blank and so is the output screen.  The only thing that shows is the search screen with the list of possible shabads.

Having a look at the ROM the Windows version is Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional CE OS 5.2.21812 (Build 21812.5.0.50) - the device and GA version is same obviously.

Will you be providing support for Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional?

Really need this working on my device but also need new ROM.  Looking forward to your reply.

Thanks.

Gurfateh Ji

With our experience working with custom ROM's, we know that most of the time, the custom ROM's are cut down to improve speed, usability and to free up disk space. Because of this, certain system libraries required by GA may be missing.
I would strongly advise you using a standard HTC ROM.
