I'm glad you were able to release the app and you have done great work, though I wanted to let you know that myself and others are experiencing problems.

When clicking the banis in the "Quick List" and then selecting a language option it just returns to a blank screen with no Gurbani.

Having to double click to open an item is confusing since most apps you only have to touch once. I think many users won't get this when they try to open/click but it doesn't do anything with a single click.

The only search option that displays any results  for me is the "Anywhere" option.

There should be a close/back link/button to hide the keyboard. It isn't obvious that if you touch the search box again that it hides.

When I do a searching using the anywhere option and double click on the shabad, and select a language option the screen goes blank.

The only way I can view any Gurbani is by using the "Ang" search.

Are you having issues? Please post details here...

I'm on iPhone 3G (with OS 3.0), Jailbroken and Unlocked.

Same issues confirmed on iPhone 1G with 3.1 OS and Jailbroken.

MESSAGE FROM THE GURBANI ANYWHERE ADMIN

I can confirm that the issues are only on jailbroken phones due to inconsistent api's in the jailbroken SDK, which are consumed by the app.

Apple like most technology companies provide standard interfaces to system level api's, which are part of the iPhone SDK. However with the jailbroken versions, there are inconsistencies which are out of our control and even apples, as apple tries to limit certain functionaility only for offical ROM's.

What we tried to do when developing this version, was not to get into the same issues that other development groups have experienced, such as the app only working on specific offical iPhone/iTouch OS. Hence the app has been designed to work with any OS starting from 2.0 onwards.

This add's to my theory behind inconsistent api's. If we wanted to support jailbroken devices, I don't think we would have the time to offer all the functionality in the offical release and provide that in the unofficial version as this would require me to debug 1000's of lines of code just to confirm a certain operation would work for every jailbroken OS.
I will see what we can do, maybe produce a cut down version for jailbroken devices, but i don't see this happening very soon.

The GA iPhone Edition has been tested and currently only supports official iPhone/iTouch devices and OS's, both for ethical and development issues as Jailbroken OS's have been created by hackers and not officially supported.

As there are many benefits and disadvantages of Jailbroken devices, they can be found @: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jailbreak_(iPhone_OS)

Supporting the official OS's is difficult enough, never mind the jailbroken OS's, however I will take a look into this and see what I can do. As we only have 1 iPhone device I cannot estimate when I can do this but I will sure try.

Is your iPhone jailbroken? If so then it wont work with the current version of GA iPhone Edition.

Even better if you send me your crash log from your iPhone or I believe you can send this directly to the app store now and i can get it from their. This will tell me why its not working and provide me with a wealth of information in order to find the issue.

Thanks
